I think this is where eM has not kept up to speed with changes to mail account providers. I do run into problems every now and then though where it suddenly fails to access my e-mails due to settings issues. I think these delay issues are synchronisation issues not necesarilly EMs fault and most eclients will scan continuously for new mail so they don't just appear when you open the eclient. I have seen other comments where people complain about slowness or constant scanning. eM is my favourite for daily use and I think its the best of its type. I've been using eM for a while and have version 7 now. They've coded a buggy application with a HAL-9000 core, and they're now obligated to travel to Jupiter before they deploy a newly coded application ("2001 - A Space Odyssey" / Stanley Kubrick reference). eM Client Support blames all the problems on everyone else, and claims that the other email clients I use only work because "they're not secure". RULES have stopped working on multiple accounts, and the "Move to Junk and blacklist Domain" function doesn't actually work anymore. SMTP is unreliable and won't send messages from any number of my accounts - randomly. I'm forced to switch to various web-based clients, depending on the account. When eM Client fails, my customers don't receive my emails. This happens EVERY DAY! I'm technically very literate, but all my attempts to resolve the issues have been ineffective. Since that upgrade eM Client presents multiple errors and fails to send and receive from multiple accounts that employ totally different security protocols. Then they upgraded to a new interface, and presumably a new code core several years ago. EM Client used to be a good email client.
